The GameGrooves Album Producer Challenge

 

GameGrooves is challenging YOU to produce a 5-track video game cover EP with friends. It doesn’t matter if you’ve just started making video game covers or if you've been producing for years, this challenge is for anyone and everyone!

CHALLENGE

Produce a 5-track video game cover EP with friends by the end of December 2024.

TIMELINE

  • May 1st, 2024 - Album pitch must be submitted via the form at the bottom of this page.

  • August 1st, 2024 - Arrangements must be finished.

  • January 1st, 2025 - Mastered tracks must be finished.

RULES

  1. Producers MUST collaborate with at least four other primary arrangers for the EP.

    • Each track must have a different primary arranger.

    • Producers may be a primary arranger for one track, but they are not required to arrange a track.

    • There can be no more than 3 primary artists on one particular track.

    • There can be no more than 10 featured artists on one particular track.

    • Each producer can only submit one project, but they can be featured as a primary arranger on as many projects as they want.

  2. All five tracks must be from a licensable video game(s) (read Soundrop’s guide to learn more).

  3. Producers must submit all their work for every check-in.

  4. Producers must create this album from scratch (i.e. no previous track arrangements).

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • You do not need to be a musician to apply to this challenge.

  • If you need arrangers/collaborators, feel free to pitch your album on the GameGrooves Discord server (link below).

  • Tracks can be from more than one game or game series.

  • Artists can submit their work before a check-in deadline.

  • Artists can hire someone to create album art if they so choose.

  • Artists can hire someone to master their album if they so choose.

  • Artists retain all rights to their music and arrangements.

If an artist completes all 3 check-ins, GameGrooves will cover the costs of licensing ($0.99 a track; ~$5 per person) and will assist with marketing.
